Pam's kids

We all have kids right? Some have 2 legs, ours just so happen to have 4!
Two of our babies, Dollar and Blue, found a new home in 2011 (yes, they went to the same family)...We were blessed beyond belief to have them and are thrilled that the their new family loves them as much as we always will.
Here they are in some of my favorite shots:

This is "Dollar" shown here by my friends
Matt Kempf and his wife, Lisa:
Isn't she beautiful? By far the greatest horse I've ever had.
And here are a couple
more of my favorites of Dollar-baby in the pasture, and with my sister, Connie and "Blue:"

...With my sister, Connie...

Now for "Camelot" our Gypsy Vanner stud, who has been growing like mad! This is a 2-yo pic, he just turned 3 on June 9th, 2011 (and he is for sale):

"Blue" was Camo's best friend...With Blue and Dollar gone, we'll see how long we get to enjoy Camo...

Of course, the horses weren't the only 4-legged critters at the farm...Where would we have been without the barn cats who both passed away and are burried at the farm by their favorite creek they moused at...
This was "Mrs. Biggs":

...and is was Ebby (short for Ebony):

People always ask "Where do you live?"
Well...Right Here! (That's my mom on the right)

This is the 100-year-old Barn which we renovated:

This is a couple pasture shots (we have 4 pastures and 2 12'x24' run-in shelters):

And this is looking out the back of the house across the pasture towards the West where Rick's burning brush, and where we get to watch the sunset every evening from the hot tub!:

...And that's a pretty good overview of my world. We've been blessed to say the least and work hard to keep it up and hopefully sell it this coming spring so we can move on to something smaller - maybe something on water, who knows?!!!

Back to the babies...
This is Peanut:

And, here's "Brittle" Peanut's girlfriend:

So that completes our happy family...For a while at least!
Are you tired of blurry pictures yet??? No?
Ok, there's always more...
Fun with Mom & Dad on our "Father's Day" fishing charter (mom's pointing to the one she caught all by herself!) with Love It Charter Captains Bruce and Brian Cleveland:

...Summer kayaking (that's the nose of my kayak!):

Me, snowshoeing at PJ Hoffmaster State Park on Lake Michigan:

And of course those special times I get to spend with my sweetie...

More pics to come from our upcoming Florida Keys trip in 2012!!!

Stuff...

PERSONAL STUFF...
Wow 2011 came and went fast! We're just about out of the horse business (still have Camelot), and of course we still have the farm (but it's up for sale)...Bought a Sea Ray boat last fall so we can't wait to get it in the water - COME ON SPRING!!!...Seems that with all the lakes around - not to mention the BIG LAKE we'd be missing out not to take advantage of boating again.

FAVORITE FAMILY PICS...
Camo, Starman and Misty in the West Pasture:

My sis, Connie, dad and Peanut Butter the Santa-dog (Christmas 2010):

Reader's Corner:
I have always been an avid reader...I love books! <3 3="" br="">
That said, I thought it would be fun to share with you the book(s) I've either just read, or am in the process of reading - who knows, maybe you'll take the time to email me and share your thoughts, too! pam@107mus.com  *Book Cover Photos courtesy Amazon.com

Where the River Ends by Charles Martin...WOW. Very uplifting and very sad at the same time. A story about learning to live through death, i cried through the entire last chapter. I genuinely recommend it.

Right now, I'm in the midst of reading Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover - 3rd Edition
...The first thing I did was CUT UP MY CREDIT CARDS!!! I'm very psyched about this one! WARNING TO POTENTIAL READERS: This book may seriously change your life! I'm not joking - not a bit.

Rick & I just finished The 5 Love Languages: the Secret to Love That Lasts by Gary Chapman
AWESOME. We've had a pretty rough year or two. That said, we both decided we'd try anything to make this thing called "love" work, and no joking, this book opened our eyes and our hearts. It's an easy read, very interactive, introspective, and one I HIGHLY recommend couples read, especially if you're finding yourselves in a relationship "funk." Very eye-opening for both of us. The ideas presented are helpful for anyone in a relationship at any stage. Before you give up, give Chapman a chance. What do you have to lose?

Favorite Websites and Web Stuff:

FROM MY HOME TO YOURS...RECIPES:
When we share our recipes, we share a little bit of ourselves...

I was asked to re-post the RIB RECIPE I used back on Father's Day and while this isn't exactly how it ended up (you know I always have to play with a recipe to make it my own), this is the recipe I started out with. Good luck, and I encourage to play with it a bit, too and get to know your grill really well! Low and slow is the key to GREAT RIBS!!!

Enjoy the recipes I post, and please feel free to email me yours, I'll get them up here for everyone to try!
