Shirley Temple Passes Away at 85

Shirley Temple Passes Away at 85

Shirley Temple-Black, the curly-haired child star of the 1930s, has died at the age of 85. Her family says she passed away late last night at her California home of natural causes. Often referred to as the original child star, Shirley Temple appeared in more than two-dozen films during the '30s and is the youngest actor to win an Oscar. She retired from films at age 21 and spent the rest of her life raising her family and being active in politics. She held several diplomatic posts, including ambassador to Czechoslovakia and Ghana.
